Estée Lauder has just unveiled in February 2011 its new CyberWhite Brilliant Cells whitening range.
One year after the launch of CyberWhite Ex, Estée Lauder launches a second range of whitening products with CyberWhite Brilliant Cells. While the first is positionned as an “intensive care” range, Brilliant Cells is described as “essential care”.

3) Repair with the Full Spectrum Brightening Essence
4) Moisturize with the Full Spectrum Brightening Milky Lotion and / or the Full Spectrum Brightening Moisture Creme
Claims :
As a whitening range, it has a anti-dark spot efficiency, target four kinds of dark spots :
– stuborn age spots : claimed to be reduced by half after a 8 week treatment, based on a “Clarity Recovering Protein” and a “Melanin Dissolving Technology”.
– small surface spots : skin is “dramatically” clearer, more even toned after 8 weeks, based on N-Acetyl Glucosamine
– barely visible spots : using a “Melanin Interception Technology”
– recurring spots : skin looking clearer even at 6-month milestone, based on “Anti-irritant Calming Technology”
However, the “reason why” – as marketing people say – of this range is a new understanding of dull skin claimed by Lauder labs : dull skin would not be caused only by dark spots, but also by :
– dehydration
– uneven skin texture
– disorganized collagen
– microcirculation
Each of these issue is addressed with a specific answer :
– dehydration is counteract by “rebalancing and maintaining optimal moisture levels”
– uneven skin texture is improved by enhancing skin’s natural cellular turnover
– disorganized collagen is prevented
– microcirculation is improved by massage
Conclusion :
Estée Lauder is launching with Brilliant Cells a very complete range of products, a complete whitening routine answering to the needs of Asian consumers in terms of texture positioning. In terms of claims, few can be said about active ingredients, since anti-spots actives are hidden behind “Technologies” (e.g. Melanin Dissolving Technologies, Melanin Interception Technology, …etc), or without any specific precision (e.g. efficacy on dehydration or uneven skin texture based on formula efficiency).
