Clinique is about to extend its moisturizing range Moisture Surge with a new formula : Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15.

According to Clinique, this product is intended to answer the needs of “all foundation-phobes”, associating “a hint of skin-perfecting colour with just enough coverage to make the appearance of imperfections disappear, providing a naturally pretty look”.

The novelty of this product is its texture, closer to a skincare than a foundation, described as a “super hydrating, lightweight modern gel-cream”.

This product is another candidate in the trend to soften the frontier between skincare and make-up.

  1. Looks like it will be replacing the almost make up foundation. I was intrigued till I saw “MENTHOL”. Can you say hello irritant! I will stick with my sheer tint! Clinique needs to be more irritant aware for us sensitive skin gals!

    1. The most probable reason why Clinique added Menthol to its formula is to improve freshness when the product is applied. This Tinted Moisturizer is indeed described as a “gel-cream”, which is usually a fresh, aqueous, light texture. But the product contains pigments, and UV filters, which not helps to formulate a fresh gel-cream. Menthol seems thus here a kind of “formulation trick”. But maybe some users like you will not tolerate it.
